Does anyone have tips for local transport to interviews? (update)

The bus takes almost an hour to reach the places hiring as a medical assistant. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I can walk part of the way. What do you use?

If you can, schedule interviews back to back in the same area to save fares.
