Does anyone have tips for local transport to interviews? - any advice?

I do not have a car and interviews in Austin are spread around. There are 11 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I can walk part of the way. What do you use?

Our transit agency has a reduced-fare pass for people with low income. The application took a week.
