Does anyone have tips for local transport to interviews? - any advice?

The bus takes almost an hour to reach the places hiring as an accountant. I have been trying to stay organised about it. Some employers are off the main lines. Are there discounted passes?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
