Does anyone have tips for local transport to interviews? - any advice?

I need a cheap way to get to several appointments. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. Some employers are off the main lines. Any rideshare programmes?

I planned routes the night before with a trip planner and left twenty minutes early.

If you can, schedule interviews back to back in the same area to save fares.
