Does anyone have tips for local transport to interviews? after 9 years as a call-centre agent

The bus takes almost an hour to reach the places hiring as a call-centre agent. I am in Kansas City, in case local advice matters. I do not want to be late. Are there discounted passes?

Our transit agency has a reduced-fare pass for people with low income. The application took a week.
