Does anyone have tips for local transport to interviews? after 6 years as a mechanic

I do not have a car and interviews in St. Louis are spread around. It has been weighing on me all week. Some employers are off the main lines. What do you use?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
