Does anyone have tips for local transport to interviews? after 17 years as a mechanic

I do not have a car and interviews in Portland are spread around. There are 17 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I can walk part of the way.

I planned routes the night before with a trip planner and left twenty minutes early.

If you can, schedule interviews back to back in the same area to save fares.
