Does anyone have tips for local transport to interviews? after 17 years as a call-centre agent

I need a cheap way to get to several appointments. This is my first time dealing with any of this. Some employers are off the main lines. Are there discounted passes?

I planned routes the night before with a trip planner and left twenty minutes early.

Our transit agency has a reduced-fare pass for people with low income. The application took a week.
