Does anyone have tips for local transport to interviews? - 8 months and counting

The bus takes almost an hour to reach the places hiring as a forklift operator. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I do not want to be late. Are there discounted passes?

Our transit agency has a reduced-fare pass for people with low income. The application took a week.
