Does anyone have tips for local transport to interviews? - 7 months and counting

The bus takes almost an hour to reach the places hiring as a teaching assistant. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I can walk part of the way. What do you use?

If you can, schedule interviews back to back in the same area to save fares.
