Does anyone have tips for local transport to interviews?

The bus takes almost an hour to reach the places hiring as a copywriter. There are 3 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. Some employers are off the main lines. Are there discounted passes?

I planned routes the night before with a trip planner and left twenty minutes early.

Our transit agency has a reduced-fare pass for people with low income. The application took a week.
