Does anyone have tips for local transport to interviews? - 5 months and counting

The bus takes almost an hour to reach the places hiring as a web developer. There are 6 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. Some employers are off the main lines. What do you use?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
