Does anyone have tips for local transport to interviews? - 3 months and counting

The bus takes almost an hour to reach the places hiring as a hotel front-desk agent. I can walk part of the way. Are there discounted passes?

Our transit agency has a reduced-fare pass for people with low income. The application took a week.
