Dealing with the isolation of unemployment - any advice?

I am trying to look after my mental health while I search. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. Some days I feel numb. How do you ask friends for support?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
