Dealing with the isolation of unemployment

Being out of work for 5 months has worn me down more than I expected. I am in Cleveland, in case local advice matters. Some days I feel numb. How do you ask friends for support?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 5 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
