Daily structure while out of work, IT help-desk technician here

Since my layoff as an IT help-desk technician I have no real structure. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I tried blocking out hours for applications but I lose steam by noon. What helps you switch off?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
