Childcare while job hunting, what worked? - what worked for you?

My hours will change when I find a job and childcare is my biggest worry. I worked as an insurance claims processor before this. A neighbour offered help but not every day. What worked for you?

I swapped afternoons with another parent. It took some planning and saved us both money.
