Childcare while job hunting, what worked? (update)

Ingrid Okonkwo · 2026-08-01T23:21:12.563Z

The daycare near me wants more than I can pay. I am in Boise, in case local advice matters. A neighbour offered help but not every day. What worked for you?

Our county's childcare assistance took about 11 weeks to approve, but it covered most of the cost.
