Childcare while job hunting, what worked? (update)

I have 12 kids and I need to interview and work without a sitter. I worked as a call-centre agent before this. A neighbour offered help but not every day. Is there an emergency option?

Libraries and community centres run free activities that gave me a couple of hours.
