Childcare while job hunting, what worked? (update)

Quinn Okafor · 2026-08-13T20:30:48.100Z

The daycare near me wants more than I can pay. I have been trying to stay organised about it. A neighbour offered help but not every day. What worked for you?

Our county's childcare assistance took about 18 weeks to approve, but it covered most of the cost.

Ask the school about after-school programmes. Some are free or based on income.
