Childcare while job hunting, what worked?, recruiter here

I have 8 kids and I need to interview and work without a sitter. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I looked into subsidies but the forms are long. What worked for you?

I swapped afternoons with another parent. It took some planning and saved us both money.

Libraries and community centres run free activities that gave me a couple of hours.
