Childcare while job hunting, what worked? (Honolulu)

I have 17 kids and I need to interview and work without a sitter. I looked into subsidies but the forms are long.

I swapped afternoons with another parent. It took some planning and saved us both money.

Libraries and community centres run free activities that gave me a couple of hours.
