Childcare while job hunting, what worked?, graphic designer here

My hours will change when I find a job and childcare is my biggest worry. I worked as a graphic designer before this. A neighbour offered help but not every day. Is there an emergency option?

I swapped afternoons with another parent. It took some planning and saved us both money.

Libraries and community centres run free activities that gave me a couple of hours.
