Childcare while job hunting, what worked? - first time posting

The daycare near me wants more than I can pay. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. A neighbour offered help but not every day. What worked for you?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
