Childcare while job hunting, what worked?, bookkeeper here

I have 5 kids and I need to interview and work without a sitter. I worked as a bookkeeper before this. I am willing to trade favours. What worked for you?

Our county's childcare assistance took about 13 weeks to approve, but it covered most of the cost.

I swapped afternoons with another parent. It took some planning and saved us both money.
