Childcare while job hunting, what worked? - any advice?

I have 13 kids and I need to interview and work without a sitter. I have been trying to stay organised about it. A neighbour offered help but not every day. What worked for you?

Our county's childcare assistance took about 23 weeks to approve, but it covered most of the cost.
