Childcare while job hunting, what worked? - any advice?

I have 9 kids and I need to interview and work without a sitter. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I am willing to trade favours. What worked for you?

I swapped afternoons with another parent. It took some planning and saved us both money.

Ask the school about after-school programmes. Some are free or based on income.
