Childcare while job hunting, what worked? - any advice?

I have 6 kids and I need to interview and work without a sitter. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I am willing to trade favours. What worked for you?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 7 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
