Childcare while job hunting, what worked? - any advice?

I have 14 kids and I need to interview and work without a sitter. It has been a long 5 weeks. I looked into subsidies but the forms are long.

Our county's childcare assistance took about 5 weeks to approve, but it covered most of the cost.
