Childcare while job hunting, what worked? - any advice?

I have 5 kids and I need to interview and work without a sitter. I worked as a procurement assistant before this. A neighbour offered help but not every day. How long did subsidies take?

Ask the school about after-school programmes. Some are free or based on income.
