Childcare while job hunting, what worked? after 7 years as a sales associate

The daycare near me wants more than I can pay. There are 7 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I am willing to trade favours. Is there an emergency option?

Our county's childcare assistance took about 4 weeks to approve, but it covered most of the cost.
