Childcare while job hunting, what worked? after 6 years as a nurse's aide

I have 6 kids and I need to interview and work without a sitter. This is my first time dealing with any of this. A neighbour offered help but not every day. What worked for you?

I swapped afternoons with another parent. It took some planning and saved us both money.
