Childcare while job hunting, what worked? after 5 years as a welding apprentice

I have 5 kids and I need to interview and work without a sitter. There are 5 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. A neighbour offered help but not every day. What worked for you?

Libraries and community centres run free activities that gave me a couple of hours.
