Childcare while job hunting, what worked? after 4 years as a software tester

I have 4 kids and I need to interview and work without a sitter. There are 4 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I am willing to trade favours. Is there an emergency option?

Ask the school about after-school programmes. Some are free or based on income.

Our county's childcare assistance took about 11 weeks to approve, but it covered most of the cost.
