Childcare while job hunting, what worked? after 15 years as a dental hygienist

I have 15 kids and I need to interview and work without a sitter. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I looked into subsidies but the forms are long. What worked for you?

Our county's childcare assistance took about 8 weeks to approve, but it covered most of the cost.
