Childcare while job hunting, what worked? - 9 months and counting

I have 6 kids and I need to interview and work without a sitter. It has been a long 9 weeks. I looked into subsidies but the forms are long. Is there an emergency option?

Libraries and community centres run free activities that gave me a couple of hours.

I swapped afternoons with another parent. It took some planning and saved us both money.
