Childcare while job hunting, what worked? - 7 months and counting

My hours will change when I find a job and childcare is my biggest worry. I worked as a customer-service rep before this. A neighbour offered help but not every day. Is there an emergency option?

Our county's childcare assistance took about 5 weeks to approve, but it covered most of the cost.

Libraries and community centres run free activities that gave me a couple of hours.
