Childcare while job hunting, what worked? - 5 weeks in

My hours will change when I find a job and childcare is my biggest worry. It has been a long 5 weeks. A neighbour offered help but not every day. Is there an emergency option?

Our county's childcare assistance took about 5 weeks to approve, but it covered most of the cost.
