Childcare while job hunting, what worked? - 19 weeks in

I have 3 kids and I need to interview and work without a sitter. I worked as an electrician's helper before this. I looked into subsidies but the forms are long. Is there an emergency option?

I swapped afternoons with another parent. It took some planning and saved us both money.
