Childcare while job hunting, what worked? - 12 months and counting

My hours will change when I find a job and childcare is my biggest worry. It has been weighing on me all week. I am willing to trade favours. Is there an emergency option?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
