The daycare near me wants more than I can pay. I am in Richmond, in case local advice matters. I looked into subsidies but the forms are long. What worked for you?

Ask the school about after-school programmes. Some are free or based on income.

Libraries and community centres run free activities that gave me a couple of hours.
