Childcare while job hunting, what worked? - 10 months and counting

I have 18 kids and I need to interview and work without a sitter. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I looked into subsidies but the forms are long. What worked for you?

Libraries and community centres run free activities that gave me a couple of hours.
