Budgeting tips when income drops - what worked for you?

We are a household of 6 and the budget no longer works. Any experience at all would help. I listed needs and wants and cut a few subscriptions. Did lenders work with you?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
