Budgeting tips when income drops - what worked for you?

I am $250 short each month and trying to find it. I worked as a warehouse supervisor before this. The rent is fixed and the car payment is high. Did lenders work with you?

I called each lender and asked for a hardship plan. Two agreed to lower payments for a few months.
