Budgeting tips when income drops - any advice?

My income is now a fraction of what it was as an IT help-desk technician and I am trying to cover the essentials. Any experience at all would help. I am nervous about falling behind. Any apps or methods?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
