Budgeting tips when income drops

We are a household of 6 and the budget no longer works. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I listed needs and wants and cut a few subscriptions. What helped you?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 9 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

A paper list of bills by due date helped me more than an app. I could see the month at a glance.
