Budgeting tips when income drops - 7 months and counting

My income is now a fraction of what it was as an administrative assistant and I am trying to cover the essentials. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I am nervous about falling behind. What helped you?

Check for energy assistance programmes. I got a credit that covered two bills.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
