Best tools for tracking applications? after 5 years as a marketing coordinator

I am tracking my applications in a notebook and want something better. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I want reminders to follow up. What do you use?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 2 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
