Affordable home internet for job applications - what worked for you?

I use my phone as my only connection. There are 7 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. Some applications need a computer. What else should I consider?

Ask your internet provider about their low-income plan. They rarely advertise it.

Libraries lend Wi-Fi hotspots in some towns. Mine lent one for three weeks.
