Affordable home internet for job applications - any advice?

I use my phone as my only connection. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. Some applications need a computer.

Libraries lend Wi-Fi hotspots in some towns. Mine lent one for three weeks.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
